Fathers and sons

One of James' favorite weekends of the year came again. He LOVES the Fathers & Sons campout. Robert got to go for the first time this year. When we told him he was going camping for the first time, he corrected us with the reminder that he went to "soccer camping" this summer. Needless to say, we was a bit surprised by this different kind of camping. Also needless to say, he loved it.

Kate isn't pleased that she doesn't get to go on this camping trip. The fact is, though, Ben would take her if she really insisted. Instead, she and I plan a special date. This year, we went to dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Judd and then watched a movie with Grandma. I hope she continues the tradition with me next year.
