The kids and Ben spent hours working in the garden this year and have been enjoying garden tomatoes for a couple of weeks now. Each night when Ben comes home, we all share three our four plates of tomatoes with fresh basil and salt. Robert spends the most time picking the veggies and provides a running commentary as he surveys the plants to decide which are ripe and which need "one more day." In addition to the tomatoes, we've had several cucumbers, zucchini (learning new ways to cook them all the time), yellow squash, corn and hot peppers.
