Vacation - Croatia - on the Adriatic Sea

We arrived at the marina in Split early Saturday evening. Ian and Laurel and Ian's cousin and his wife had arrived shortly before we did. One of Ian's college roommates and his wife arrived soon after we did. We met our friends and our boat and said hello to a week of leisure! It was a little early in the season, so the water was a little too cold for swimming. We also had a good amount of rain and wind, which made for a couple of days of very rocky sailing. While it would have been nice to have a little more sun and spend more time in the water, I welcomed the opportunity to nap, read, chat, play card games, eat European chocolate, and lie comfortably either on my bed below deck or on the bow of the rocking boat. Below are a few shots from time spent on the water.

The marina in Split.

Short stop to check out a cave on an island.
This was an empty submarine base used during the Balkin wars.  It was dug into the side of an island,
largely hidden until one was almost at its entrance.
We stopped for a couple of hours to check it out, hike a bit, and play (momentarily) in the cold water.

This was one the second of two jumps and represents the total of my time spent in the Adriatic Sea.
Did it for the kids - and the proof.
