James' brain is working hard to figure out the whole campaign mess that's happening all around him. He asks a lot of questions. Usually, he wants to know if his friends' parents are voting for Dad. Thankfully, he doesn't ask this directly to the parent anymore. A few awkward rounds of that and we had a quick chat. He has made one very accurate conclusion though:
"Mom, voting is like a game for a lot of days, right?"
You got it, James.
. . . I voted by mail this morning. James and Kate helped me fill in my ballot. Kate filled in the bubble next to Ben's name, James filled in a couple of bubbles next to other names he recognized from lawn signs around the neighborhood and at Ben's joint campaign events.
